Since we are based in the Rockies, we all possess a special love for the outdoors and the region we call home. Year round, you can find all of us escaping to the mountains for a weekend getaway of fishing, hiking, skiing or just enjoying the amazing mountain atmosphere. As a result of our love for the area, we love talking about it and making sure everyone we talk to is given the best information possible to make sure their stay in the Rockies is as enjoyable as possible! No matter whether our clients are visiting in the spring, summer, fall or winter, we know the hot spots and what activites and events to attend to make your stay even better… and if we’re lucky, we might even run across each other! Rentobi is a pioneer in the Vacation Rental industry, providing unparalleled service for both management companies and consumers alike. By taking what companies like HomeAway, Travelocity or Expedia have done and expanding upon their model, we provide your one stop shop for every lodging option available. Before the launch of our company in 2008, no other travel website offered customer service to help renters make sure they are getting exactly what they are searching for. By having experienced sales agents in every location in which we have properties, we are able to answer any and all questions posed by our consumers. Instead of having to call dozens of individual homeowners or management companies, or in the case of Travelocity and Expedia, not even having the option to speak to someone in the location you wish to travel, we have one phone number you can call and have all of your questions answered.

In most cases, people searching for vacation rentals can only access a limited amount of information on the internet, and have many questions and concerns. Our sales agents are positioned in every location for exactly that purpose; to provide answers to all of their questions.

As per the PhocusWright study of the Travel Industry 2008, more than 64% of vacationers research their trips online, while only 12% of those people actually book online. The number one contributing factor to this discrepancy is lack of customer service and that is right where we pick up! Vacation rental management companies represent 75% of the online bookings done annually, mainly because of their ability to provide customer service and knowledge of a location.

The opportunity

The vacation rental sector of the Travel & Tourism industry is an emerging division, poised to show tremendous growth in 2009, during a slow economy. Currently, the vacation rental sector possesses only about 8% of the market share, but this is expected to grow at least 1% per year through 2012, based upon research performed by Blizzard Internet Marketing, Inc. Given this growth, we are positioned to be a major player in a $25 billion market in 2010. The current real estate market plays a role in this growth as many second home owners are trying to earn additional revenue from their properties, dramatically increasing the supply of vacation rental units, particularly in high-value areas such as Vail, Aspen and destination locations.

The most significant operating factors influencing the success of vacation rentals – and those that are generating optimism within the industry – are the increased adoption of management technology, and the continued improvement of distribution, marketing and booking tools available to property managers and owners. Due to our extensive research and knowledge of the vacation rental market, we have developed a model that highlights exactly those factors. Our partnership with our software provider will allow us to take our business model to the next level by allowing a seamless interaction between property managers/homeowners and our sales staff/website, as well as seamless booking capabilities for potential renters viewing properties online. As the online presence of the vacation rental sector continues to grow, we will be positioned to be the only vacation rental company with local sales agents ready to answer any questions our consumers have.

In the travel and hospitality market, people are depending more increasingly on internet services to research and book vacations. It is estimated by Travel Industry Association that over 83% of travel planning in the U.S. is done online, and that number is constantly growing. In 2009, 37%-38% of all hotel bookings will be generated from the internet, and Merill Lynch research estimates that by the end of 2010, over 45% of all hotel bookings will be completed online. As technology continues to improve and adapt in the vacation rental industry, it will not be long before our industry catches up to hotels. In fact some of our software company’s current clients are already booking over 55% of their total annual reservations automatically through their own web sites. In the first five (5) months of 2008, our software company reported over $108 million in gross reservations booked online through their product. By providing a nationwide presence for the this system, we propose to capture a significant portion of these online bookings, similar to how Hotels.com, Expedia.com, etc have done within the hotel industry.

The 2009-2010 season will be our final testing ground for our new website and software. Once we have done our due diligence and documented the processes and outcomes of the new system, we will be poised to take our model to a much larger scale. Currently, there are over 100,000 properties nationwide we can access directly through our software provider. Therefore, once we have tested the system in the mountain region next season we will be prepared to become an industry leader in the vacation rental arena.
